ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------
Have any US presidents been arrested?
The current US president, George W. Bush, was arrested for
driving under the influence of alcohol in 1976.
What vice-president killed a man in a duel?
Vice President Aaron Burr killed Alexander Hamilton in a
duel. The two men had a long history of conflict. Because
Hamilton had accepted the challenge to a duel and the
"rules" of the duel were followed, Burr was not indicted for
murder. He completed his term as vice president, but later
was charged with treason in another matter.

The Longer I Stand Here
The Behinder I Get!
Do you ever have days like that? You know, where you
look at your workload at the end of your day or week
and find there is more work there that when you
started?
You can accept that condition in several ways.
You can accept it as a sign of your growing success.
For example, a graphic artist rarely gets pats on the
back for good work. Because he or she is good they just
get more work. If you are in an internet marketing
business the chances are that the more successful you
become the greater the workload.
So looking at things that way it appears, on the
surface anyway, to be good, only tiring and rest will
fix that.
Or you can accept it as a burden on top of many other
burdens you have and so the condition becomes negative.
In this case it needs a real serious look.
Take time to yourself and have a re-look at things.
If you accept the above condition as good, even then it
may need to be re-analyzed. There may be ways you can
streamline, automate or delegate some of your work. It
is vital you maintain good solid think time so you can
remain centered.
If you accept the condition as a negative it is time
for you to re-think what you are doing, how you are
doing it or, at the very least, your attitude toward it
and why that attitude.
Life is too short to have things out of balance, out of
harmony or out of order. Those three attributes are
vital to the success of anything. If you, your
attitude, the condition, the people around you, the
task itself, the job itself, if any of it is out of
balance, out of order or out of harmony it will
ultimately fail. Those three attributes must prevail
before success can occur.
So, take time to reflect on what is happening in your
life. Realize you have the power to change things to be
what you want them to be. Relax, be thankful,
re-energize and come away from you Hour a new person.

MEDICAL COLUMN - - - -
by Karin Henderson
A&P Anatomy And Physiology
PART 4 of 11
The Make Up Of Your Body And How It Functions
Most books on the body have an atlas or a diagram, a
roadmap. These usually present two genders: male and female.
Why? Because bodies are similar in actions, but not totally
similar in structure. All are identical except for the
reproductive system: each gender has its own. Being small or
large boned or being overweight or very tiny, doesn't really
present a major challenge. The underlying organs are
essentially the same. Generally the female body has smaller
features.
Do you ever look at pictures in medical books or sites and
wonder why the patient is always facing to the front, in an
upright position? That's called the anatomical position.
From that viewpoint, everything is identified. So a medical
person anywhere in the world can relate to the picture or
person. It allows everyone to determine how "deviant" the
situation is from the normal. Everyone in the medical
community studies this in detail. It is the roadmap for
their decisions. Each must learn and understand and then
apply this knowledge.
And remember that when a health care professional is
checking you in person, they are facing you. This image of
you is the same as the person in the picture. So the
doctor's "left" is actually your "right". They will
immediately "translate" this to the correct side. There are
other imaginary lines drawn all over your body. This is
medical terminology. (It is a universal way for all health
care personal to relate to each other.) This way of teaching
describes different parts of the body in quadrants or
planes. Each has a specific meaning. So if you directed me
to a pain in your left upper quadrant, I would know what
structures lay underneath that point. Cavities ("hollow" or
"unoccupied" spaces) exist in your body. (The term
cavities is not solely used to describe holes in your
teeth.) Everyone has an anterior and a posterior side:
front and back. Because everyone's anatomy is virtually
identical, you can see how quickly someone can make a
medical assumption. Granted, once in while, someone has an
anomaly or an unusual position or no organ at all, but here
we are only dealing with the normal anatomy for the general
population.

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .
----------------
The following day the emissary called another
meeting of the four men he interviewed the day
before. He handed out blows that shook the men to
their core.
The cardinal was to be transferred to
Rome. On the surface it appeared as if it was a
promotion. It wasn't. The cardinal would be buried
in books and paperwork, never again to be heard
from. He would appear as needed at public
ceremonies but otherwise he would be relegated to
a useless, unproductive position no greater than a
clerk.
All three of the others had a choice. They
could take postings in areas where the church was
trying to establish itself, such as Afghanistan,
Iraq or Iran, or they could leave the church.
There was no middle ground, no give. Those were
the choices.
Two of the men chose isolated outposts, hoping
they could redeem themselves. The other chose to
leave the priesthood. He would carry that shame
with him for the rest of his life. There was no
need for him to do that but that is what he will
do, being ignorant of the laws Jesus taught.
Then came the words that were the worst of
all, "You will leave today." That was the command
from the emissary. He offered no words of scorn,
neither pity. All knew what was up and however
they took it, they left him and were on their way.
The one who left the priesthood merely went to
a clothing store and purchased some clothes.
Returning to the cardinal's office he changed,
left his priests clothing in a pile, turned and
walked out the door forever. He, like all men who
leave something they have spent a life doing, was
sad. He had no idea where he would go or what he
would do.
The emissary from Rome called all other staff
in and advised them of what happened. Some were in
shock and to some it was no surprise.
"We will now rebuild." With that he dismissed
them and started to work. He had a number of
bishops he could look at for promotion to the
cardinal position and he could take from a vast
number the cardinal's assistants.
Additionally, during his investigations he had
heard a couple things that disturbed him. He had
learned of the renegade priest whose parish was
beginning to send in money on a regular basis. He
had also heard of the visits by Sam Henry,
although he knew not the name of the apparition.
He would look into those matters first hand.
Sam Henry had been observing all the antics of
the church in Matto Grosso. He could see the
emissary from Rome doing his thing. It was a real
power trip. He had no concept of the real problem
or the real solution. Sam knew he was only
concerned with the church once again having
revenues and control of the people. Little did he
know he would have neither. The emissary from Rome
would take the same hard stand the cardinal had
concerning the command from Sam. He, too, would
call it an apparition and leave it at that,
requiring all bishops and priests get to the
business of gathering revenues. He shut down the
places by the shrine, dismissing them as foolish
and he even dismissed the shrine as foolish. It
was clear to all he had spent no time in the area
and knew nothing of what the shrine was doing or
what it meant to the people.
The church in this area was destined to
failure. If they did not teach what Jesus taught
they would gain no revenue and they would fail.
Many of the bishops and priests knew this but the
emissary would not hear of it.
In the meanwhile Sam had other concerns. He
had been doing his work one day, over Africa,
while visiting with Mombudo and Kenyata. While
doing so he spotted a group who were planning,
once more, an insurrection, a plot against the
government. While the story line this group gave
the people was the question "What is the
government doing for you?" and they would point
fingers to the listeners. These listeners were non
educated and had no real idea what the government
was doing for them. The real motivation was the
money and the power. Some in this group had seen
some of their brothers put on the uniform of the
army and rapidly gain promotion. They would strut
about commanding people to do anything they wanted
at the time, including having sex with anyone they
wanted. The punishment was instant death for
failing to comply.

Little Guido was sitting on a park bench munching on one
candy bar after another.
After the 6th one... a man on the bench across from him
said, "Son, you know eating all that candy isn't good for
you. It will give you acne, rot your teeth, & make you fat."
Little Guido replied, "My grandfather lived to be 107 years
old."
The man asked, "Did your grandfather eat 6 candy bars at a
time?"
Little Guido answered, "No, he minded his own business!"
