What is a black dwarf?
Kudos to you if you knew we were talking about astronomy and
not fairy tales! A black dwarf is a very small star that
emits no detectable light.
What is black gold?
This one was a new term for me! Black gold is another name
for petroleum. When you consider the COST of petroleum now,
the term makes sense!

Mountain Climbing Over Molehills
Someone has said that the greatest cause of ulcers is
mountain-climbing over mole-hills! Is that the way you get
your exercise? <G> Many folks allow themselves to be thrown
off course by minor or imaginary threats. Often they interpret
these as life-or-death, or do-or-die situations. They put so
much energy into their worries that there is none available
for progress. Some even believe that worrying demonstrates
caring. This is misguided, too.
The use you make of your energy is your choice. Simply use it
consciously and constructively. Worry is neither.
Bertrand Russell, philosopher and mathematician, tells of a
technique he used on himself to calm down his worries and
excessive negative excitement: "When some misfortune
threatens, consider seriously and deliberately what is the
very worst that could possibly happen. Having looked this
possible misfortune in the face, give yourself sound reasons
for thinking that after all it would be no such very terrible
disaster. Such reasons always exist, since at the worst,
nothing that happens to oneself has any cosmic importance.
When you have looked for some time steadily at the worst
possibility and have said to yourself with real conviction,
'Well, after all, that would not matter so very much,' you
will find that your worry diminishes to a quite extraordinary
extent. It may be necessary to repeat the process a few times,
but in the end, if you have shirked nothing in facing the
worse possible issue, you will find that your worry disappears
altogether and is replaced by a kind of exhilaration." Now
that seems worth having, doesn't it? Exhilaration brings
energy to push through difficulties and level mountains as
well as mole-hills.
This strategy for approaching your concerns can help you to
maintain an aggressive, goal-directed, self-determining
attitude even in the presence of very real and serious threats
and dangers. Denial is not advocated! Positive action is!
Keep It in MIND!

A&P Anatomy And Physiology
PART 10 of 11
The Make Up Of Your Body And How It Functions
Now that you have a greater understanding, you will find
questions to your answers. If you recognize some possible
allergies, find out why you have them and why the entire
world doesn't have them. Yes, many do, but again, they are
not a natural phenomenon. Find out what is going into your
body via foods, drugs, or environmental "irritants". Ask why
your body puts up a fight (asthma attack or sneezing) when
something gets into your nose or lungs. Your respiratory
system is trying to protect you. Yet you take a drug that
halts your protective defence mechanisms as the symptoms are
inconvenient at that moment.
If you find your elbows stiff after tennis, ask yourself
why. Perhaps you overdid the exercise program? If you can
see free radicals as the enemy of your body and the
antioxidants as your helpers, would it not then make sense
to fill your body with antioxidants at every opportunity?
And you can do that by checking everything you eat.
I am really glad we are on an anti-aging crusade but I think
it comes from the wrong sector of society. Rebuild your own
body with common sense and healthy choices. Ask yourself how
you can feed and nurture every cell of your body's systems.
Your entire body needs adequate and appropriate nutrition,
and the elimination of harmful intruders. (Drugs, allergens,
unhealthy environments, etc., all contribute to this.)
You are the gatekeeper. RSVP your way back to health. Read
all you can. Study what you really don't understand.
Visualize yourself in full health (no matter what your
present state is.). Then get practical. Follow proper eating
habits and exercise your body. You don't have to run a
marathon. A gentle walk will do and you can increase the
pace as you feel like it. Make the changes you know are
necessary. And please remember you are NOT your spouse, your
parent, or anyone else. You are strictly you. Only you have
been privilege of living in this body for now. It is your
responsibility to nurture it so we can all benefit from the
purpose of your life.

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

----------------
Sam and Alewka stayed at the orphanage for a
week, familiarizing themselves with the children.
The youngest was about five and the oldest was 15,
except for Tlang, she was the oldest at now 17.
Sam remembered well Riata's statement about
these kids never having been anywhere. He well
knew the power of education a trip to another land
would be for these kids, so he devised a plan. He
called Alewka, Tim and Tlang, Riata, Amenti, Reno
and Maria together and offered it to them.
He suggested that each of five people or
couples could take 10 children each and take them
away for a week. He suggested that Alewka take 10
and each of Riata, Amenti, and Reno take 10 and
further that the team of Tim and Tlang take 10.
The idea would be to visit two different
places within that week. The plan was to have the
children see how people in the rest of the world
live, sort of open their minds a little.
Their destinations would be Mombudo and
Kenyata's place in Africa, Miguele and Abetta's
place in Matto Grosso, Eloise and Mazunta's place
at the village and Sam and Alewka's place in the
States. For the fifth place Sam was a little
puzzled, then a voice came to him "Sam, bring them
here. We would be glad to host them for a while."
The voice belonged to Brian Doherty, the war
prisoner in south east Asia whom Tim and Sharon
had helped find his way across the veil of
simplicity. Brian now lived in Scotland.
There, that rounded out the five places to
take the kids. Not all kids would see all five
places but they would see enough different places
to see how the rest of the world lived. That was
the purpose of the plan.
Sam was able to get the agreement of all,
including Maria who would take a group the next
time, when these kids arrived back.
The idea was that when everyone arrived back
they would stay for a week and then the next batch
would have choices of who they would like to go
with, the kids having a bit of a chance to tell
everyone of their adventures.
With that being approved by everyone,
including the folks at the destination places, for
Sam had already communicated what they were doing
to his friends, the plan was to start today. They
would gather up the children in their own groups
of 10 and tell them what was happening.
Then, when they were satisfied their group was
ready they would simply leave to go to their first
destination, for four days. At the beginning of
the fifth day they were to move on, as a group, to
their next destination. All this had been worked
out in advance so all the leaders knew where they
were going.
Within an hour the orphanage seemed deserted.
A little less than half of its members had
disappeared. To those remaining it was somewhat
eerie.
Sam took his group to Scotland, to meet Brian
who welcomed them with open arms, literally. Brian
lived by higher law and was really pleased he
could do this. He broadcast love unto each child
and they each knew in their heart of hearts they
were welcome.
Brian made sure each was dressed warmly.
Scotland was a considerably cooler climate than
the part of China where these kids came from.
Brian lived in the highlands and he took the kids
everywhere. Over the course of their visit the
kids must have hiked for a hundred miles. Brian
took them up into the hills and down the valleys.
He took them into the cities and to castles, forts
and to the sea. The children saw men dressed in
skirts and ladies in pants. They saw school
children all in the same uniform. They witnessed
an military parade and they listened to the
terrible wonderful screeching of the bagpipes.
By the time Brian has finished with them they
had their eyes full of Scotland. The kids absorbed
every ounce of it as if they were sponges.
From the cool climes of Scotland Sam took them
next to Africa to visit Mombudo, Kenyata, Sonora
and Hemno. Alewka's group had just been there and
they had left for Pinehill.
The children discarded their clothing that
Brian had manifested for them. The climate here
was much hotter than even their own home in China.
They all noticed that loin clothes appeared to be
the standard dress, even for the women. That is
the dress they adopted, immediately.
Sonora and Hemno were right into this visiting
business. It had been a while since they had
something purposeful to do. They took the kids
everywhere. From playing in the village with the
village kids to the long walk down onto the plains
to see all the animals. The kids again must have
hiked their legs off. Not one of them complained.
Each was completely and utterly fascinated by what
they saw. Everything was different than what it
was like in their own home.

important as what you become by achieving your goals."

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
HA! HA! HA!
My husband, Michael, and I were at a restaurant with his
boss, a rather stern older man. When Michael began a tale,
which I was sure he had told before, I gave him a kick under
the table. There was no response, so I gave him another
poke. Still the story went on. Suddenly he stopped, grinned
and said,
"Oh, but I've told you this one before, haven't I?"
We all chuckled and changed the subject. Later, on the dance
floor, I asked my husband why it had taken him so long to
get my message.
"What do you mean?" he replied. "I cut the story off as soon
as you kicked me."
"But I kicked you twice and it still took you awhile to
stop!"
Suddenly we realized what had happened. Sheepishly we
returned to our table. The boss smiled and said,
"Don't worry. After the second one I figured it wasn't for
me, so I passed it along!!"
