TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -
-----------------------

How long do horses live?

Where can you fish for sardines?

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

How do they do it?

Horses have a unique inner structure to their legs that
allows them to lock up their bones and tendons while the
rest of the horse relaxes. They can stand so long, because
their leg muscles aren't working to support them - just the
bones and tendons. Horses do sometimes lie down, but they
actually expend more energy lying down than they do standing
up. Lying down can be bad for them because it makes their
muscles sore and puts too much weight on their bottom lung.

Why do horses have an air-filled sac inside their heads?

No, it's not their brain. The "guttural pouch" inside
horses' heads was discovered in 1764, but no one knew what
it was for. Some scientists believed that it worked as a
sound amplifier. Others thought it might act as a voice
resonator or even a floatation device. Scientists at the
University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada, determined
that the guttural pouch actually acts as a radiator! It
works to cool horses' blood, when they are running, to prevent
heat stroke or seizures.

Here's To Think On ...
with Ken Darby
------------------------------------

Not A Childish Dream!

At his request, each morning the mother of three-year-old
Melvin, pinned a bath towel to the back shoulders of his
size two T-shirt. Immediately in his young imaginative mind
the towel became a brilliant magic blue and red cape.

And he became Superman. Outfitted each day in his "cape,"
Melvin's days were packed with adventure and daring
escapades. He was Superman.

This fact was clearly pointed out last fall when his mother
enrolled him in kindergarten class. During the course of the
interview, the teacher asked Melvin his name.

"Superman," he answered politely and without pause.

The teacher smiled, cast an appreciative glance at his
mother, and asked again, "Your real name, please."

Again, Melvin answered, "Superman."

Realizing the situation demanded more authority, or maybe to
hide amusement, the teacher closed her eyes for a moment,
then in a voice quite stern, said, "I will have to have your
real name for the records."

Sensing he'd have to play straight with the teacher, Melvin
slid his eyes around the room, hunched closer to her, and
patting a corner of frayed towel at his shoulder, answered
in a voice hushed with conspiracy, "Clark Kent."

Cute, isn't it. And this is likely a true story rather than
a joke.

But, WOW! is it ever a critical moment in a child's life.
Often this is the moment where the "system" requires we show
this child a little reality. This is the time the "system"
wants to wake this kid up - - and prevent him from achieving
the greatness of which he is capable.

Yes, I know that when you place a child into organized
education, they are to learn and follow rules. Too bad,
though, that the implementation of that requirement so often
takes the greatness out of imaginative kids.

It is never done, of course, with a desire to hurt the
child. It is always done in the belief that we must teach
this child to conform to the rules and stay within bounds,
so as not to disrupt others education and their own. He is
to be a seagull on the beach scrapping hard and fighting
with others for food, rather than be a Jonathon Livingston
Seagull.

Yes, the moment is delicate. Why not let it continue until
you can interest him in something else, like the reality
that his dream will make him or her great, one day.

In the interest of maintaining order, initiative is often
destroyed. In the interest of having a child do as we say we
too often stymie what he or she can really become.

In our "busyness" we tell a child to "Go sit down, don't
bother me, I'm tired, I've had a hard day!" when the child
simply wants to share his or her reality with someone he or
she loves.

How often does our anger over lack of funds boil over into a
heated command to a child who does not understand? How often
do we try to tell a child that his or her dream isn't the
real world?

You have within the head of a child, a mind that can be
molded to greatness, yet we prefer to keep it mundane. A
child can soar to the sky with ease, but we prefer to keep
their "feet on the ground"

Being a parent is to learn to walk a fine line. You can
always bring a child back to your reality with a "THUNK!"
Yet, as a parent you have the opportunity to allow a child
to soar into greatness, if you would but help.

As an Uncle, Aunt, Grandma and Grandpa you have this chance,
too.

Not A Childish Dream!

Some Thoughts On Chelation Therapy
Learning About Possible
Metal Toxicity In Your Body
PART 5 of 11

This site answered many of my questions, for instance…quote
“what is chelation? “Chelation therapy involves the use of
chemical compounds injected into the blood stream, muscle or
taken by mouth to bind metals that are present in toxic
concentrations so they can be excreted (usually in urine)
from the body.”

When could chelation be a treatment of choice? Quote:
“Chelation therapy is medically indicated when toxic levels
of heavy metals such as iron, arsenic, lead, and mercury are
present. While iron is a vital metal the other metals
(arsenic, lead, and mercury) are not required by the body.

Lead toxicity most commonly occurs with young children
exposed to old houses with lead paint dust or chips.
Occupational exposure (soldering, welders, smelters, battery
reclamation) is also a risk. Lead screening for children has
now become a standard part of a doctor's visit for children
in may states.

Mercury toxicity almost always occurs with high risk
occupational exposures including dental workers,
manufacturers of batteries/ thermometers, tannery
work/taxidermy, and contaminated seafood. Arsenic poisoning
usually occurs from exposure to insecticides, herbicides,
rodent poisons, veterinary parasitic medications, or
intentional poisoning.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to

your favorite bookstore. ISBN # 1-4137-4723-X

As his Mother and Dad were looking on Boolong
took one step and in that step he became fully
dressed in white, perfectly dry and having a heart
so full of love it nearly overwhelmed him.

Boolanga looked at Sien. "Thank you" were the
thoughts he sent. Then he looked at Boolong. There
was a tear in Boolanga's eye. His son was now a
Master, a practitioner of higher law.

Both his Mother and Boolanga went to him and
hugged him, offering the traditional whisper in
his ear, "Welcome".

Then others who knew what was happening, all
gave Boolong a hug and the whisper.

When Sam Henry hugged Boolong he took the boys
arm as he was backing away and with the index
finger of his right hand touched his arm.
Immediately there was the image of a heart
emblazoned into his arm as if a tattoo. This would
be visible only to those who lived by higher law
or were close.

In all it was a most joyous time. The time a
new one becomes a Master is an extraordinarily
precious moment. Those who share it are often
entranced with the reverie of the moment.

Boolong was now able to live by higher law.
Instantly he knew his responsibilities and in that
same instant knew both the power and knowledge
that was available to him. He was sober for he
found the condition awesome.

His Mom and Dad put their arms around him and
walked home for supper.

"I am always in awe when a person makes the
final step." Sam''s mood was pensive.

"There is not likely anything more beautiful,
honey, but it is time for supper. Sien, please
join us and please stay for the fire tonight."
Alewka took Sam's arm and Sien's arm and led them
over to Mazunta's and Eloise's place.

Eloise already had the meal prepared and
served. It was for those who came to help
themselves. She had also started a small fire in
front of the hut and folks encircled the fire
while they were eating.

"Well, young lady, that was some water fight
you started!"

"It seemed like the thing to do at the time,
Dad." Eloise laughed. "It was fun though."

"Yes, it was. I suppose it will now become a
ritual?"

"I don't think so, Dad. That kind of thing is
best when it is spontaneous. It will likely happen
again sometime but it won't be a frequent event.
Folks here understand that. It was just fun for
the moment. Sien, is that why you came today,
because it was Boolong's turn?"

"Yes, Eloise. He has been ready for quite some
time, but it meant he was growing up into
adulthood. Sometimes Moms and Dads don't want to
let a child go. Boolanga and Karmuz were just
hanging on to the wonderful child they raised. Yet
it was his turn and he was ready. I simply created
circumstances in which he could take the final
step. His Mom and Dad have worked with him a long
time, even as you and Maz have worked with your
children. You might want to put them to the test,
as well. I think you might be surprised. Don't
hold them back. They will proceed as they need."

That thought hit both Mazunta and Eloise with
a great deal of weight. It meant their children
were growing out of the need for Mom and Dad.
Sometimes it was hard for a parent to let go, but
let go they must.

Eloise looked at Maz. They both had an
understanding at that moment. They would take
their children all the way at the earliest
possible moment.

Sam and Alewka had a tear in their eyes. They
knew what this moment was to Maz and Eloise.
Even Ben and Helen Striker had tears in their
eyes. They, too, could understand the dynamics of
the moment.

Sien merely smiled. "Life has come a long way
since I met up with a scrawny teenager in the
jungle."

"Oh, my, Sien, it certainly has. So many
things have happened since then. Thank you for
being there for me in my moment, too." Eloise was
remembering the time she had met Sien in the
jungle, long ago on her first trip to South
America. At that time she was concerned about her
own survival and found that by going inside and
trusting the information she received she could
thrive. Slowly but inexorably she gravitated to
using higher law. It was when Sien appeared to her
in the jungle that she truly began to know and
understand the scope and power of higher law.

She looked over to her own children, AliAnn
and Sammy. They were both in their teens now and
were growing to be a great source of pride to
their parents. Sammy carried himself with a regal
bearing he seemed to copy from his Father. AliAnn,
too, was very much the lady and capable of
leadership qualities. She, too, copied her
parents, for her Mom, Eloise, was a perfect mate
for her Dad.

HA! HA! HA!

St. Peter and Satan were having an argument one day about
baseball. Satan proposed a game to be played on neutral
grounds between a select team from the heavenly host and
his own hand-picked boys.

"Very well," said the gatekeeper of Heaven. "But you realize,
I hope, that we've got all the good players and the best
coaches."

"I know, and that's all right," Satan answered. "We've got
all the umpires!"
