TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -
-----------------------
What kinds of fish are called sardines?
Does anybody actually eat sardines?
--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------
How long do horses live?
It depends on the breed and the care given the horse, of
course, but generally, horses can live 20-25 years, with
some living into their thirties, and the rare horse living
into the forties or beyond.
Where can you fish for sardines?
There actually ISN'T a single type of fish known as the
sardine. So technically you can't go fishing for sardines!
"Sardine" is a nickname or generic term for any kind of
small, saltwater fish that comes packaged in a flat can.

STRANGE BITS AND PIECES!
In 1960 there were 16,067 gambling slots in Nevada. By
1999, this number rose to 205,726 slots which would be one
slot for every 10 people residing there.

OPTIMIZE LIFE NOW!

Superheroes Need Not Apply
Are you a work superhero(ine)? Are you the one who knows where
everything is, what everything costs, what happened to last
year's __________ and, who did what to whom when? In addition,
are you the one who can fix anything, soothe the raging client
and stay late daily? AND, are you the one through whom
everything must pass, or the only person who can do specific,
critical tasks? Is everyone dependent upon you for something?
Watch out! You are not likely to be next in line for a
promotion. Why not? You have made yourself too critical to the
organization. If you are that indispensable and irreplaceable,
how can you ever be promoted?
There is another downside to being a 'superhero(ine)'. You
stand squarely in line for blame and criticism. You are a
walking target. You are in danger of becoming the bottleneck
in your organization. It may feel to you like control and
power, however, in reality, it is fraught with danger and
uncertainty. If others cannot do their work before you
complete a task, who will they point to when deadlines loom?
On the other hand, there is great joy in Mudville, when you
step up to bat if you always hit a homer.
Superhero(ine)s can be marvelous, organized founts of
knowledge and skill. They can also be perfectionists and
control freaks. You likely know one in each category.
Sometimes the superhero(ine) actually hoards tasks and takes
on additional responsibilities in a bid to become
indispensable. Sometimes, they simply want to prove what they
are capable of producing. We are all superhero(ine)s at times
if we want to move up in our organizations. The distinguishing
feature is our awareness of our reasons for undertaking tasks
and responsibilities.
Your value to your organization is actually raised when you
teach others to perform competently, when you delegate well
and increase the skill and knowledge of others. Some great
advice from Harry E. Chambers, author of "Getting Promoted",
is: "Learn as much as you can about as many functions, tasks,
and roles as possible, but do not insist upon doing them all
yourself. Learn to give them away. Refusing to allow others to
learn and expand their boundaries is considered weakness.
Being the perceived bottleneck or control freak can be to your
career what Kryptonite is to Superman!"
Think carefully about your roles and goals. Be on track to
success on your own terms.

Some Thoughts On Chelation Therapy
Learning About Possible
Metal Toxicity In Your Body
PART 6 of 11
There are some heavy metals to which most people are not
exposed, but they might be a problem for some. They include
cadmium, manganese, aluminum, cobalt, zinc, nickel, copper
and magnesium. Heavy metal toxicity can cause a wide range
of problems including severe injury to the body organs and
the brain. What are the common? They are Desfuroxamine
Mesylate, Dimercaprol (BAL), DMSA, D-penicillamine, Calcium
Disodium Versante (CaNa2-EDTA). (Close quote)
Side effects of chelation can be slight or very, very
serious. Do not play around with this. Can it be dangerous?
Quote Absolutely! All chelating agents have both minor and
potentially life threatening side effects. They must be used
under the supervision of a physician in a hospital setting.
Please visit this website for more details.
http://your-doctor.com/patient_info/alternative_remedies/
various_therapy/fraud_topics/chelation.html
As with all drugs, side effects are a reality. You simply
cant put something into your body without another reaction
happening. Some of the side effects can be kidney damage,
skin peeling and blisters, headache, chills, fever, fatigue,
muscle aches, reduction of the body's ability to make new
blood cells in the bone marrow, dangerously low blood
pressure, fast heart rate, dangerously low calcium levels in
the blood, increased risk of bleeding or blood clots
(including interference with the effects of the
blood-thinning drug warfarin [Coumadin]), immune reactions,
abnormal heart rhythms, allergic reactions, blood sugar
imbalances and convulsions. There have been reports of
nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal upset, excessive thirst,
sweating (diaphoresis), low white blood cell counts and low
levels of blood platelets.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET
<><><><>
THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.
The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .
----------------
Sam Henry gave his daughter and her husband a
"mental hug". It meant, "Thanks, guys. You have
done good work."
Each, Mazunta and Eloise looked at Sam.
"Thanks Dad."
Sam stood from the meal, then stretched. He
knew it would not be long before the evening fire
began. He walked over to Sammy, took his hand and
raised him up. Then he hugged Sammy. "I'm glad,
son, that you are my grandson." As Sam stepped
back he touched Sammy's arm and there was the
heart.
Next, Sam took AliAnn. She, too, was given a
hug and a heart.
"Thank you Grandpa." AliAnn gave Sam one of
those hugs that only a granddaughter can give. It
was that innocent, fresh, meaningful hug that
communicated true love, void of all other human
emotions or feelings. It was exquisite.
As you might expect she had her granddad
twisted around her little finger. There was
nothing Sam wouldn't do for her. This kiss and hug
would be remembered by Sam for a long time because
he didn't get too many of them. He loved his
grandchildren possibly even more than he loved his
own children. I guess not, really, but the love he
had for them was intense, where his own children
were now up and away on their own and quite
capable of living life without him. The
opportunities to kiss and hug them were even more
rare than for the grandchildren.
Alewka was the kind of grandmother that was
calm, soft, loving, kind, understanding and worked
with the kids. They gravitated to her as if she
were the only one in the world. When Alewka was
around the kids didn't even spend much time with
their Mother or Father. Alewka captured their
complete attention.
That didn't bother Mazunta and Eloise. They,
too, were warm and loving, but they also had the
job of being the disciplinarians, when necessary.
Alewka didn't. She left that job to the parents.
She just concentrated, like every grandparent
should, on loving the grandchildren.
Sometimes that was hard for Sam. He knew the
children needed to know and feel pain as well as
pleasure if they were going to be well rounded
capable adults. When he saw anyone protecting the
kids from the things they should, as kids,
experience it bothered him. It bothered him that
any child would not be taught to be responsible
for his/her actions. Fortunately his daughter and
her husband were not of that mind. They wanted
their children to experience the full gamut of
human experience. They had to go through the pain
as well as the pleasure. Sam respected that.
Folks were beginning to walk past on their way
to the evening fire. The hour had come. As they
walked by, Sam noticed they were still talking
about the fun everyone had this afternoon, just
before supper.
This community is a very tight knit group.
They keep it that way by conducting events in
which everyone can participate. No one is left
out. The result is a strong, vibrant community.
Newcomers are welcomed, only because none arrive
but by the recommendation of a trusted member of
the group. The possible exception would be those
who live by higher law.
Slowly the family and friends around Maz's and
Eloise's fire, rose. They put the fire out,
cleaned up any mess left from the meal and slowly
carried on the conversations while proceeding to
the community fire.
Arriving, Maz and Eloise took their appointed
positions at the head of the fire circle. Room was
made for Sam, Alewka, the kids and Ben and Helen
Striker. Sien, too was part of that bunch. The
group form Romano's and Oomano's orphanage all sat
down on the other side of Maz and Eloise. Other
than that there was no special seating.
The group of kids with Romano and Oomano were
in awe of the function. They never had much of a
chance to have a fire at home, never mind one so
large and this. Neither had they ever seen adults
and kids work and play together as they had seen
here in this village. This trip was going to be
quite an eye-opener to them.
Sam sat on the ground next to his daughter's
chair. He always did love to be in her presence.
Her children, now in their teens, were sitting
beside him and next to Alewka. Conversation and
banter was passing back and forth amongst this
little group, just as it was amongst other little
groups.
The drums began. The night became dark almost
imperceptibly. All were concentrating on events
around the fire and paid little attention to the
darkening night.
It was hard to believe this is the very site
where less than three hours ago was a sea of mud
in which most of this village were playing.

HA! HA! HA!
Just as she was celebrating her 80th birthday, our friend
received a jury-duty notice. She called to remind the people
at the clerk's office that she was exempt because of her age.
"You need to come in and fill out the exemption forms," they
said.
"I've already done that," she replied. "I did it last year."
"You have to do it every year," she was told.
"Why?" came the response. "Do you think I'm going to get
any younger??"
