Benjamin Franklin! The Post Office Department was created
with his appointment in 1775.
What was the Pony Express?
The mission of the Pony Express, which was in service from
April 1860 to October 1861, was to deliver mail and news
between St. Joseph, Missouri, and San Francisco, California.
At least 183 men are known to have ridden for the Pony
Express, which ran all day and night. Riders were generally
in their late teens and early twenties. The youngest was
just 11 years old. An ad in a California newspaper read:
"Wanted. Young skinny, wiry fellows. Not over 18. Must be
expert riders. Willing to risk death daily. Orphans
preferred." The entire Pony Express route was almost 2,000
miles and accommodated 165 stations. New riders took over
every 75 to 100 miles and riders received a new horse every
10 to 15 miles. The Pony Express has come to symbolize the
daring of the American West, but it actually was a financial
disaster and entirely impractical as a delivery system. The
transcontinental telegraph made the service obsolete after
only 18 months and the company lost over two hundred
thousand dollars.

one American in the next two weeks. Well, I am an American
too.

The leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, Abu Hamza al-Muhajer,
recently issued a decree to its supporters: Kill at least
one American in the next two weeks "using a sniper rifle,
explosive or whatever the battle may require."
Well, Abu Hamza al-Muhajer, I am an American too. Count me
as the one of those you have asked your supporters to kill.
I am not alone, there are thousands of Muslims with me in
Las Vegas, and many more millions in America, who are proud
Americans and who are ready to face your challenge. You hide
in your caves and behind the faces of civilians in
Afghanistan and Iraq. You don't show your faces and you have
no guts to face Muslims. You thrive on the misery of
thousands of Muslim youth and children who are victims of
despotism, poverty and ignorance.
During the past two decades, you have brought nothing but
shame and disaster to your religion and your world.
You said you "invite you not to drop your weapons, and don't
let your souls or your enemies rest until each one of you
kills at least one American within a period that does not
exceed 15 days with a sniper's gunshot or incendiary devices
or Molotov cocktail or a suicide car bomb -- whatever the
battle may require." I invite you to surrender, to seek
forgiveness from God almighty for the senseless killing you
and your supporters are involved in and repent for
everything you have done.
You say that the word of God is the highest. Yes, it is. But
you are not worthy of it. You have abandoned God and you
have started worshipping your own satanic egos that rejoice
at the killing of innocent people. You don't represent
Muslims or, for that matter, any decent human being who
believes in the sanctity of life. Many among us American
Muslims have differences with our administration on domestic
and foreign issues, just like many other Americans do. But
the plurality of opinions does not mean that we deprive
ourselves of the civility that God demands from us. America
is our home and will always be our home. Its interests are
ours, and its people are ours. When you talk of killing of
Americans, you first have to kill 6 million or so Muslims
who will stand for every American's right to live and enjoy
the life as commanded by God.
By growing a beard, shouting some religious slogans and
misquoting and misusing some verses of the divine
scriptures, you cannot incite Muslims to do things that are
contrary to our religion. Yes, you even fail to understand
the basic Islamic principles of life and living. Islam
demands peace in all aspects of life, Islam demands respect
for life. Islam demands justice.
What you are doing in Iraq, Afghanistan, India or other
parts of the world is anti-human and anti-divine. You are an
enemy of Islam as much as you are an enemy of America. You
must understand that God who entrusted you with life is the
same God who spelled his spirit in every human being
regardless of his or her religion or ethnicity or
nationality or status. You are violating him.
We feel totally disgusted with your action and we condemn
you without any reservation. Don't come to our mosques to
preach this hatred. Don't visit our Islamic centers to spill
the blood of innocents. Don't think that just because we
share the same religion, we would show some sympathy to you.
You are not of us. You don't belong to the religion whose
followers are trying to live a peaceful life for themselves
and others serving the divine according to their
understanding. In our understanding of faith, you appear as
anti-divine and anti-human. We reject you now as we rejected
you yesterday.
There is nothing common between you and us.
We stand for life, you want to destroy it.
We accept the divine scheme of diversity in the world and
you want to impose conformity.
We respect every human being simply because he or she is a
creation of the divine, and you hate people based on their
religion and ethnicity.
We support freedom and liberty and justice, and you promote
bigotry, murder and strangulation.
You will never be able to find a sympathetic voice amidst
us. Our differences with others will never lead us to do
things that are fundamentally wrong in our faith, i. e.
taking the lives of innocent people and killing others
because they are different.
So on Sept. 11, when you will be hiding in your caves, we
will be out in the streets paying tribute to those who you
killed because you failed to see the beauty of life. We will
condemn you once again the same way we have been doing ever
since 9/11 because we are Muslim Americans.

Did you know that in certain instances, the health care
agencies supply what is called a “patient advocate”. So
even the “system” understands the needs for
clarification and understanding. You might also find a
doctor who will actually come to your seniors group and
tell you how you could make your appointment more
effective. All this only takes courage until you have a
few of your own experiences. Then you have conquered
one more fear. Much more importantly, you have reached
another milestone toward your mission in taking control
of your health.
Incidentally, when you finally achieve this level of
confidence with your health care professional, it
spills over into all other parts of your being.
Remember the t-shirt that says “I survived such and
such”? Maybe you need to make yourself one that says “I
survived my doctor’s visit and learned to conquer my
fear of asking”.
Having read all this, and now being confronted with
your doctor telling you that you have a problem with
the apex of your heart and the lower left part, what
would you do? I sincerely hope you have now learned it
is your responsibility to clarify what is meant. If
there is further treatment proposed, you need to find
out about possible complications. What are its desired
outcomes? You must ask how you can use this information
to keep you healthy or return you to health. Did you
enjoy your trip through your cardiovascular system?
Would it be worthwhile protecting it and the rest of
your body? Would the challenge of learning to ask
better questions be a small price to pay for a healthy
lifestyle? Only you can answer that.

Well! Finally! I have been waiting for years for the Muslim
community to speak out against those within its ranks that
are the killers.
I have no idea why it took so long for someone to take a
public stand. The entire community should be up in arms
against those who are prolonging the killing and the terror.
There should be a huge movement against that part within the
community that advocates violence as a means to get what
they want.
Violence has been used for years and the only thing that it
has produced is more violence. The problem is that those who
advocate violence are too stupid to know the law "As ye sow,
so shall ye reap" and it is killing them as well as anyone
who gets in their way.
Where did the lesson of Ghandi go? Where did the lesson of
non-violence disappear? Even within Ghandi's own country
they have long forgotten the lessons the great man taught.
Mahatma Ghandi knew well the law "As ye sow, so shall ye
reap." He well knew the British government was much better
armed and entirely capable of killing all and anyone they
wished. He knew, just as those with any brains should know
today, that if you go up against a superior force with
violence there is only one who will lose. The stupidity of
those within the Muslim world who encourage violence, or
within any world or community, is what keeps the world on
the brink of terror continually.
If they would come to their senses, see and understand the
law, and begin a non-violent protest, a continual one,
against those they want out of their country, it would, like
India, be successful. Imagine, all it takes is a few clear
thoughts.
Now, someone tell me why they will not do this. Do you know
why?
Some will say it will take too long. Well, tell me how long
and how many people must die for the violent way to work.
Some say there is no leader strong enough to bring this
about. Well, there are, in fact, many leaders who could do
this, but they don't trust the law. They are afraid that if
they begin it might fail, indeed they themselves may get
shot by the zealots who refuse to look at reason.
The completely idiotic leader of the Hezbollah, who
pathetically whimpered "Gee, I'm sorry. If I had known it
would lead to this I wouldn't have done it." is a man that
should be thrown out of the government, the country and
publicly humiliated. He is no longer welcome anywhere. It is
that kind of stupidity that kills people and it is the
Muslim community that is suffering.
Stand up. Stand up I say. Speak out against those who
advocate violence wherever you see or hear them. That means
right here at home as well as in Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq,
Iran, Afghanistan. If you want the US and others out of your
country then begin a non-violent movement and make damn sure
it stays non-violent.
And you must do one more thing. You must make the decision
you want PEACE. It starts with you. It is your
responsibility. Remember peace is not the absence of
violence. It goes further. It embraces your neighbor. Peace
is found inside you and you can be the example that leads
your people to peace and security.
Peace and prosperity can be yours right where you are. That
