For a short period, yes. In 1968, legislators changed the
date of Veterans Day to the fourth Monday in October, but it
was changed BACK to November 11 a decade later because
Americans wanted it that way. The November 11 date was too
significant to be overlooked.
Is there more than one solider in the Tomb of the Unknown
Solider in Arlington National Cemetery?
An unknown American soldier from World War I was buried in
Arlington National Cemetery in 1921 (on November 11, of
course). In 1958, on Memorial Day, two more unknown American
soldiers, one from World War II and one from the Korean War,
were buried alongside the first soldier. An unknown soldier
from the Vietnam War wasn't buried in the tomb until 1984
(eleven years after a law was passed enabling a Vietnam
soldier to be buried there). It took that long to find a
soldier that couldn't be identified. Improved technology had
made it easier to identify remains. In fact, the Vietnam
soldier WAS later identified. In 1998, DNA testing proved he
was a 24-year-old Air Force pilot named Michael Blassie who
was shot down in 1972. His family disinterred the body and
had it reburied in St. Louis, Missouri.

So You Think Others Don't Know!
While working as a television news cameraman, I arrived
at an accident scene, and a cameraman from another
station pulled up behind me. As I parked the news cruiser,
I heard a policeman on the scanner using the radio
phonetic alphabet to alert other officers. "Be aware that
the Mike Echo Delta India Alpha has arrived," he said.
I approached the officer, looked him in the eye and said,
"You might be surprised to know that some of us in the
Mike Echo Delta India Alpha can
Sierra Papa Echo Lima Lima."
Every time we think we can communicate in a language
others do not understand we then feel we can use that
language to say things we do not want others to know.
It's the same old game we play with young children,
when we spell out c-o-o-k-i-e-s, instead of saying the
word, or we do it with a pet who has come to
understand the word t-r-e-a-t.
Unfortunately it is also done by those who speak more
than one language. I remember while in India, I was
once asked out to a supper at the home of a friend.
While there I knew they were speaking of me, behind
my back, so to speak. Little did they know that while I
did not speak Hindi, I did understand their facial
gestures and hand gestures, the tones of their voices
and the volume of their voices.
I did not have to understand the words to know what
they were speaking about. I then suggested to them
that if they really chose to speak about me they might
do that in English, so that I might contribute. It took
them by complete surprise.
Too often we get ourselves caught up in that kind of a
trap, when we begin to play games because we think
we know something others do not.
Don't play that game. It is like gossip, deadly at best,
and at worst, can hurt a lot of people in the process.
I live my life on the basis that I get involved in nothing
others cannot know about. That way I don't have
anything to hide and leaves a lot of room and time
for me to complete more important things. Try
it. None of us has any real secrets, except, maybe,
those things we know full well we should not be doing.
Life comes easy to the straight shooter. Hard to the
one with secrets. Your choice.

Anaphylaxis: A Medical Emergency
PART 2 of 11
Before we can go further you need to understand some
terms or phrases that are always related to
anaphylaxis. In order for you to see the bigger
picture, let’s define your immune system, an allergy,
an allergic reaction, an allergen, an antigen, and an
antibody. They all sound very similar, and that is why
it’s so important to understand what each means. They
all come into play with this “allergic” condition.
Your immune system is your body’s natural protection:
it’s the overall defence mechanism. It reacts
automatically and it reacts because it doesn’t like
things that are not natural to it. It works “behind the
scenes” all the time to keep you healthy. It allows
certain things, but reacts to others, sometimes
“irrationally”. If your body is healthy, it can
withstand many more intruders than an unhealthy body.
It’s strong enough to handle these intruders. It
doesn’t like them because they could harm you in many
ways, so it does its best to keep them out. The ones it
can’t keep out, it reacts by trying to wash them out.
That is the inflammatory process at work.
Compare your immune system to a complex alarm system
with many sections in your home. It recognizes certain
people and allows them the freedom of the house. It
disallows other situations and sets off the alarm. But
please realize that your body is much more complicated
than your home alarm. This is a simplification for
illustration purposes only.

Oh! Yeah! Here we go with another article on peace, right?
Well, yes. Is there anything you can think of that could
possibly be more important to you? Considering this is the
point one must reach before the rest of one's life begins to
be what you want I would think nothing is more important.
Oh! I'm sure some of you think money is more important, sex
is more important, job, kids and spouse are all more
important. If you are one who thinks this way you are way
off track and the chances are your life in some or all areas
is not what you really wanted it to be. Sorry folks. That's
just the way it is and it has nothing to do with me but with
natural law.
It is impossible for you to have peace of mind or to be a
peaceful person, what with all that is going on in the world
today, unless you make a point of it. Peace and being a
peaceful person is something you have to work at, make a
decision about and then take the necessary steps to ensure
your results. It does not, will not, just magically appear
because you say so. You don't just wake up one day, walk
through a magic wall and suddenly everything is the way you
want. You must think about it, make a decision and then DO.
So what happens if you do not make such a decision or do not
take such steps? Well, you can worry yourself sick about
whether you are giving your kids cancer by making them drink
milk. You can become quite nervous about whether you should
buy spinach, tomatoes or cucumbers on your next grocery
trip. You can become quite concerned about when a
"super-bug" will get turned loose, or if indeed there
already is one the establishment isn't telling you about.
You should be concerned about whether the news you get is
true or accurate, given that the US Courts say there is no
compulsion for broadcasters to tell the truth. That is more
than just a statement by the court. It is the court
authorizing the giving of falsehoods, purposely, for profit.
Yes, you can worry over all these things. Each is happening
before your very eyes. Or you can make the decision to step
out of that rat race and find peace of mind so you can run
your own life the way you want. Peace is your personal
responsibility. None but you can make it happen.
Peace and prosperity can be yours right where you are. That

and a young trainee, were out checking meters in a suburban
neighborhood. They parked their truck at the end of the alley

woman looking out her kitchen window watched the two men as

Finishing the meter check, the senior supervisor challenged
his younger coworker to a foot race down the alley back to
the truck to prove that an older guy could outrun a younger
one.
As they came running up to the truck, they realized the lady
from that last house was huffing and puffing right behind
them. They stopped and asked her what was wrong.
Gasping for breath, she replied, "When I see two gas men
running as hard as you two were, I figured I'd better run
too!"
