WHAT EVER GAVE YOU THE IDEA FOR YOUR BOOK THE SAGA OF PINEHILL?

Years ago I had a young man come up to me saying he could not find work and didn't know what to do. I suggested he write a book. His next question was "On what?" That meant I had to even come up with an idea for him, so I gave him a plot. He did nothing with it. Over the years I gave that same idea to 4 or 5 people most in the same position and with equal results. Finally while writing my daily newsletter or ezine, thePEBBLE I began to insert that plot into a column I called The Saga Of Pinehill. It's still going on today. It's in it's fourth year now.

What is thePEBBLE?

thePEBBLE is an ezine that goes out to our subscribers on a daily basis. Our main thrust is to present information of use and value to people. Our hope is they not only find out information interesting but useful in their daily lives.

YOU WRITE THE BOOK AS IF YOU ARE WIDELY TRAVELLED!

Yes. I am widely travelled. I find people all over the world have the same daily concerns. It matters not if you are a king or a pauper you need the same things.

I SEE BY YOUR WEB SITE THAT YOU WRITE ARTICLES FOR NEWSPAPERS AND MAGAZINES AS WELL!

Yes. Over the years we have collected quite a library of articles I have written. Each was written on a timeless subject and is itself timeless. That way it is possible for us to share the information without it becoming dated. We do the same for our audio CDs for broadcast over radio.

I READ YOUR BOOK. YOU DON'T SERIOUSLY BELIEVE IN THE IDEAS YOU WRITE IN THERE DO YOU?

Yes, I do. And while I appreciate you giving me credit for the writing I cannot honestly say I did. I merely sat at my keyboard. The ideas welled up within me and found their way through my fingers. I am not really the author but the messenger. What I write can be found in many places if one looks hard enough. And you will note even the Christian bible is a source of material.

ARE YOU NOT AFRAID THE CHURCHES WILL RISE AGAINST YOU?

Truth is often disguised as nonsense. I once read a quote by Arthur Schopenhauer. He says "All truth passes through three stages: First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." If the churches want to rise up against me it would be no more than expected.

ARE THE PEOPLE IN YOUR BOOK PEOPLE YOU KNOW?

Yes. I know all the characters in my book, intimately. However, I get that question from my neighbors too. They are concerned I might have written about them, possibly airing some dirty laundry. No the characters in my book are fictional.

THEY SAY THAT ALL FIRST BOOKS ARE AUTOBIOGRHAPHICAL. WOULD YOU SAY YOU ARE ONE OF THE CHARACTERS IN YOUR BOOK?

I find that statement interesting. I have studied my book and I really cannot see that. However, the parts of the story that follow this first edition most certainly contain parts I can see as me.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO WRITE?

Yes. Sit down and do it. I found I thought I was not a writer. I still think that way but others come to me and thank me for what I write. Some have been followers in thePEBBLE for well over five years. So the same can happen to any new author. Yet only one thing is guaranteed. If you don't start it won't get read.

SOME ARE AFRAID OF REJECTION BY PUBLISHERS!

Sure. They, like I, have heard all the horror stories of receiving rejection slips by the dozens. It all boils down to one's own sense of conviction doesn't it. For me, I lucked out. The very first publisher to whom I sent my material wrote me back and said they would print the book. I'm one of the lucky ones.

WHO PUBLISHED YOUR BOOK?

The fine folks over at Publish America in Frederick Maryland. They took all the risk and asked me for not one penny. They pay me a royalty and I find them to be wholly honorable folk. Go on the internet to PublishAmerica.com They answer most of your questions right there on their site.

HAVE YOU WRITTEN OTHER BOOKS?

Yes. I have written two others one called "Don't Get Rich - Get Wise!" and another called "TurboCharge Your Memory!" Each of them has not been published in print but is available on my web site in pdf (Portable Document Format) And there are more books my publisher and I are discussing right now.

IS THERE A POINT TO YOUR WORK?

I believe people need to have this information so they have choices as to how to live their lives. Following the advice given in The Saga Of Pinehill will most certainly give anyone peace in the here and now. I believe that is important.
